Oral health is vital to your pet’s overall health. At Whitelands Animal Hospital, an oral examination is a part of every preventative care exam. Our dental team has many years of experience, and our facilities have been certified by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).
From their very first visit, we evaluate puppies and kittens for problems related to deciduous (baby) teeth, missing teeth, extra teeth, swelling, and oral development. Education about daily oral care is vital to maintaining healthy teeth and gums.
As pets age, we examine your pet for developmental anomalies, accumulation of plaque and tartar, periodontal disease, and oral tumors. We can perform a basic oral examination while pets are awake, or a full dental cleaning (including ultrasonic scaling and polishing) under anesthesia.
If teeth are too diseased or damaged to be saved, our veterinarians have years of experience with dental extractions and oral surgery. Each patient has a dedicated surgery tech, advanced monitoring equipment (EKG, Blood Pressure, Pulse Oximetry, Capnography), and is closely monitored throughout their dental procedures and recovery.
